INFORMATION YOU CAN PROVIDE THAT WILL HELP YOU SELL / OR REHOME YOUR LOOM:
A couple of pictures are worth a thousand words! Plus:
- Manufacturer’s name (might be on the side frame pieces of the loom) – you can look on line to see manufacturers to compare to yours. Some of the common current manufacturers are: Schacht, LeClerc, Gilmore, Norwood, Gilmakra, and Harrisville Design. Older looms that are no longer manufactured but still great and around: Allen and Bergman.
- Weaving width (measure the INSIDE of the shafts (frames that hold the “heddles” – which are the strings or metal / wire pieces that the warp thread goes through)
- How many shafts (again, the frames that go up and down when you step on the treadles)
- How many treadles: see diagram below
- Price (depends on condition, and number of shafts and treadles, manufacturer)

- Ruthie’s may be interested in weaving equipment, particularly good condition shuttles, warping wheels, and reeds.
BOOKS:
- Ruthie’s has an extensive weaving library. If it is a book we don’t have, we may be interested. Please send the title and author. We don’t take knitting or other non-weaving craft books.
SPINNING WHEELS:
- Ruthies: For spinning wheels, Ruthie’s may have a member who is interested, so send us pictures and if you know the manufacturer, let us know. If you can send pictures and figure out the manufacturer, that would be great.
